Shannon Bonini begins her fifth year at Sacred Heart University and was recently promoted to Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer. Bonni spent her first two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Pioneers and earned her MAT from Sacred Heart’s Isabelle Farrington School of Education. She will be working with the women’s basketball program along with the rowing and swimming teams.
Bonini received her Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in May 2008. While there she gained experience through working with the university’s field hockey and baseball teams, as well as working with the Ursinus College Football team.
For the past two years she has been the athletic trainer for Sacred Heart’s women’s volleyball and baseball teams while serving as an Approved Clinical Instructor for the university’s undergraduate program. Last year she served as an adjunct professor within the program and will continue to take on teaching responsibilities.
A native of the Philadelphia area, she currently resides in Shelton, Connecticut.
