Beginning his 14th season with Sacred Heart University, Leo Katsetos is in his first season as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Training in 2013-14. His primary Athletic Training duties include working with the Pioneer men’s basketball team as well as assisting with several other Pioneer Athletic teams. In addition he is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Athletic Training Department, serving as a clinical coordinator and adjunct professor in the Athletic Training program.
Prior to coming to Sacred Heart, Katsetos served as the Athletic Trainer for the Florida Atlantic University baseball team in Boca Raton, Florida. Katsetos earned both his Bachelors of Science and MSEd in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., where he served as a student and graduate assistant Athletic Trainer for several athletic teams.
Katsetos also dedicates much of his time in helping raise money and awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society for which he serves as an ambassador. Over the last six years he has put together walk teams consisting of friends, family and the Sacred Heart Community for the annual MS walk. Together, they have raised over $115,000. During the summer months, along with his two brothers, Katsetos owns and helps manage two restaurants in his hometown of Chincoteague Island, Virginia. In his spare time Leo dedicates his time training and competing in triathlons.
