Sacred Heart Equestrian Opens 2010-11 Season With 4th Place Finish

The Sacred Heart Pioneer equestrian team opened their 2010-11 season with an IHSA horse show in Litchfield, CT hosted by Central Connecticut State and Post Universities.  SHU came home with a fourth place finish among the nine teams at the event.

The season opening show provided a few "firsts" for the Pioneers first being the first show in the newly formed Connecticut only IHSA region.  The SHU freshman class made their collegiate debuts under first year head coach Tiffany Hajdasz as well.  The Pioneers put in an impressive performance with 16 members of the 23 person team taking the opportunity to compete; earning a first place finish was well as five seconds, five thirds, two fourth, a fifth and three sixth place finishes.

"We are so excited to have Tiffany Hajdasz as our new coach and after the success of this show we can only expect a great season" stated junior team captain Alyssa Woronik

Included in the day's highlights was having nearly every rider in the ribbons in a new and highly competitive region and the great team spirit and sportsmanship exhibited by all the riders and their families.

The Pioneers would like to extend a special thank you to the parents who supported the team, especially those who shared culinary delights!
