Equestrian Team Competed at Post University's Lee's Stables Saturday

Fairfield—On October 8, 2011, The Sacred Heart University Equestrian Team traveled to Post University's Lee's Riding Stable Inc. in Litchfield, CT for their second competition of the season. 

Sophomore Arielle Pagano placed second in advanced walk-trot-canter, qualifying her for Regionals. Freshman Allison Brosky placed first in novice fences and first in novice flat, taking high point rider of the day. Junior, Devan Beaulieu started the day off by taking second in open fences.  Senior Abbie Britton placed fourth in open fences and sixth in open flat and Senior Brian Buchanan placed sixth in open fences and sixth in open flat.   The Pioneers kept encouraging each other and kept a great attitude throughout the day. Sophomore Ali Normandeau and freshman Taylor DiBella took second and third place respectively in intermediate fences. Junior Meagan Korolyshun placed second in novice flat and third in novice fences. Nicole D'Agostino took fifth in novice flat.  Sophomore Allie Buccos placed first in novice flat and third in novice fences. Western team rider Danielle Belson pinch hit for the w/t/c division, placing third.  Junior Emma Joseph finished the day, taking fourth in her walk-trot class.  Overall, the team tied for fourth, keeping them in the second place position to qualify for zones as a team at the end of the season.

The Pioneers are looking forward to another great day of competition on Saturday when they co-host their first home show of the season with Yale University.
