Sacred Heart Baseball Ranked Fourth in NEIBA Poll

(Fairfield, CT) - The Sacred Heart University Baseball team is ranked fourth in this week's New England Intercollegiate Baseball Poll for Division I.

SHU received 6 points in this week's poll, behind only UCONN (1st-30 points), Rhode Island (2nd-23 points), and Dartmouth (3rd-18 points).

The Pioneers are in second plaec in the Northeast Conference, and clinched a playoff birth in next week's NEC Baseball Tournament with a sweep of NEC defending champions CCSU last weekend.  Sacred Heart also boasts the highest team batting average (.304), most hits (486), and second-most runs (265) in the conference.

The Pioneers close out the regular season with four games at home against Wagner, beginning Thursday, May 12, at 3:00 p.m.
