SHU Baseball Begins Big Four-Game Series at First Place Bryant

(Smithfield, RI) - The Sacred Heart Baseball team is set to take on the NEC's first place team in the Bryant Bulldogs for a four game series beginning Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm.  SHU enters the weekend in fourth place with a conference record of 7-5, while the Bulldogs sit atop the standings at 10-2 in NEC play.

John Murphy (Seymour, CT)  leads the team with a .338 average, .443 OB%, 22 runs, and 12 stolen bases.  Dan Perez (Seymour, CT) is second among starters with a .323 average and leads the team with 17 RBI.  Dave Boisture (Highland Mills, NY) is hitting .302 with a team-best 32 hits.

Nick Leiningen (Millwood, NY) gets the ball in the series opener on Friday at 3:00 pm.  Troy Scribner (Washington Depot, CT) and Robbie Maguire (Brooklyn, NY) are scheduled to pitch the doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1 pm.  Kody Kerski (Waterbury, CT) gets the call in the series finale on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
