SHU Baseball Ranked Fourth in Weekly New England Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn – The Sacred Heart baseball team moved down a slot to number four in this week's New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Poll.

Sacred Heart swept a double header against NJIT Sunday afternoon to improve its record to 17-11 on the season. Freshman Keith Klebart (Orange, CT) went five-for-nine with two RBI and scored two runs in the two wins. Starting pitcher Nick Morrissey (Howell, NJ) earned the win in game one, allowing just two unearned runs in six innings of work, while Junior Dan Wertz (Cross River, NY) registered the win in game two, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The Pioners took three of four from the Highlanders to earn their fifth series win of the season.

The Pioneers will play Wednesday afternoon at Yale, and will start a four-game series at home against Mount St Mary's, starting on Thursday afternoon.
