FORT MYERS, FL - Mikel Alvarez had three hits and drove in four, while Pete Woodworth allowed just one earned run in six innings to help Florida Gulf Coast University to a 15-2 win over visiting Sacred Heart Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers finish their trip to Fort Myers with a 1-3 record, after taking the opening game 7-4. FGC improves to 6-1 this season.

JJ Edwards led the Pioneers with two hits Sunday and was 3-11 (.273) on the trip. Senior Steve Tedesco was 1-4 Sunday and finished the Florida swing with a .286 average. Freshman Dave Boisture had an excellent collegiate debut with three hits in eight trips (.375) against FGC.

The Pioneers return to Fairfield for a week, before heading back to Florida on March 7 to start a seven-game week of contests in Lakeland and Winter Haven.
