Baseball Struggles Against Rhode Island
April 20, 2010
BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Rhode Island Rams jumped out to a four-run lead in the first inning and never looked back, banging out 19 hits and taking advantage of 11 walks from six Sacred Heart pitchers to run away with a 23-2 non-conference win Tuesday afternoon.
Rhode Island starter Dan Rossignol went six strong innings, allowing just two first-inning runs and two hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Evan Laude and Oliver Palmer drove in four runs apiece for the Rams.
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday when they start a four-game series against Mount St. Mary's at Trumbull High School at 4 pm.
