Kevin Papacs begins his third year as an assistant coach on the men's basketball staff. Prior to Sacred Heart Papcas came from Wesleyan University where he spent the 2011-12 season. He helped the Cardinals to their best record ever in school history at 20-6.
Prior to his time at Wesleyan University, Papacs spent six seasons on the staff at Central Connecticut State University. During his six seasons with the Blue Devils, the team posted a league record of 67-45 and advanced to the Northeast Conference Tournament in all six years. In 2006-07, Papacs and the Blue Devils posted a memorable run in NEC play winning 16 of 18 league games and three straight games in the NEC Tournament to advance to their third NCAA Tournament since 2000. During the six seasons, the Blue Devils averaged 16 overall wins per season. During the same time, CCSU was 60-25 at home, including 39-14 in home regular season NEC action.
Before his stint at Central Connecticut, he was an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport for two seasons. He helped guide the Purple Knights to a NCAA Tournament appearance and two 20-win seasons.
Papacs graduated from CCSU in 2000 with a degree in Physical Education.
