Kevin Papacs begins his third year as an assistant coach on the men's basketball staff. Prior to his arrival at Sacred Heart, Papcas spent the 2011-12 season as an assistant at Wesleyan University, where he helped lead the the Cardinals to their best record in school history at 20-6.
Since his arrival in 2012, Sacred has produced two All-Conference selections, as well as two All-Rookie honorees. In 2014-15, the Pioneers made their first conference tournament since 2012.
Ahead of his time at Wesleyan University, Papacs spent six seasons on the staff at Central Connecticut State University. During his six seasons with the Blue Devils, the team posted a league record of 67-45 and advanced to the Northeast Conference Tournament in all six years. In 2006-07, Papacs and the Blue Devils posted a memorable run in NEC play winning 16 of 18 league games and three straight games in the NEC Tournament to advance to their third NCAA Tournament since 2000. During the six seasons, the Blue Devils averaged 16 overall wins per season and were 60-25 at home, including 39-14 in home regular season NEC action.
Before his stint at Central Connecticut, he was an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport for two seasons. He helped guide the Purple Knights to a NCAA Tournament appearance and two 20-win seasons.
Papacs graduated from CCSU in 2000 with a degree in Physical Education.
