Members of the Sacred Heart football team recently made a visit to Waterside School to spend time with students. The SHU student-athletes participated in numerous activities throughout the day, including a read aloud, and made personal connections with students as well as faculty. Waterside School is a co-educational PK-5th Grade independent school in Stamford, CT serving children and families regardless of limitations in income or circumstance. The School attracts and inspires students of academic promise and families deeply invested in their children's success.
"On behalf of the entire Waterside School community I would like to thank the Sacred Heart football program for providing us with the opportunity to spend quality time with current players," said Jamel Keels (SHU '02), a current teacher at Waterside Elementary School who coordinated the event. "I have received numerous emails from our faculty about when this event will happen again. It is clear that SHU is producing not just athletes that are productive on the field, but also young men that will go on to be productive members of society."
