Men's Golf Finishes 2nd at Blue Devil Invite
WETHERSFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University men's golf
team finished second in a 10 team field at the CCSU Blue Devils
Fall Invitational at the Wethersfield Country Club, this
afternoon. Senior David Renski (North Stonington, Conn.)
recorded a two-day total of 143 to finish in a tie for third.
Renski recorded a 71, one stroke better than yesterday, and finished two strokes behind Central's Kevin Josephson for the individual title.
Junior Joseph Serrentino (Cromwell, Conn.) finished second for the Pioneers, and tied for 13th overall, with a two-day score of 150. He shot a 73, four shots better than yesterday, in the second round. Classmate Leopoldo Garcia (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) also booked a 73 today to finish tied for for 18th at 151.
Sophomore Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.) shot a 152 (77-75), while junior Bradley Neudorf (Virgil, Ont.) posted a 157 (77-80).
The Pioneers totaled a team score of 595 to finish second, 19 strokes back of Central Connecticut (576). American International (600) placed third, with Army (605) coming in fourth.
Sacred Heart will be back on the links this weekend as they partake in the St. John's Invitational.
