Renski Tied for Lead After First Round
WETHERSFIELD, Conn. - Senior David Renski (North Stonington,
Conn.) booked a team-best 72 at the Wethersfield Country Club
on Sunday to help put the Sacred Heart University men's golf team
in third place, out of ten, after the first day of the CCSU Blue
Devils Fall Invitational. Renski's shot a 36 on both the
front and back nine to earn a share of the lead with Central's
Kevin Josephson and Justin Hughes.
Juniors Bradley Neudorf (Virgil, Ont.) and Joseph Serrentino (Cromwell, Conn.), along with sophomore Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.), recorded a 77 for the day. Neudorf tied for a team-best 36 on the front nine, follwed by a 41 on the back. Serrentino shot a 39 on the front and a 38 on the back, while Salah shot a 37 and a 40.
Junior Leopoldo Garcia (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers with a 78 (39-39).
Sacred Heart (303) heads in to today two nine strokes back of the host Blue Devils (294) and one stroke behind Bryant University (302). American International (304) and Laval (304) sit a stroke behind the Pioneers in a tie for fourth.
