SAVANNAH, Ga. - Senior David Renski (North Stonington, Conn.) of the Sacred Heart University men's golf team took home the individual title at the Lonnie Barton Golf Tourney, hosted by Long Island, Monday and Tuesday.
Renski shot a even par 144 in the two-day tournament, including a first round score of one-under at 71. As a team, the Pioneers finished in second out of nine with a total score of 600, three strokes off of the winner High Point (597).
Junior Bradley Neudorf (Virgil, Ont.) finished second for SHU and tied for fifth over all after booking a three-over par 147. Classmate Leopoldo Garcia (Guayanabo, Puerto Rico) landed in a tie for seventh with a 151, while sophomore Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.) was one stroke back, in ninth, at 152.
Junior Joseph Serrantino (Cromwell, Conn.) scored a 155 for the tournament and finished in a tie for 15th in the 56 player field.
