MALVERN, Pa. - The Sacred Heart University men's golf team shot a collective 312 on day two of the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova, to come in eighth out of the 20-team field. The Pioneers were in fifth after the first round with a team score of 304 to total a 616 at the par-71, 7.009 yard White Manor Country Club.
Junior Joseph Serrantino (Cromwell, Conn.) was the top finisher for SHU as he shot a three-over par 145 (70-75) to tie for sixth. Delaware's Kevin McLister took the individual title, while leading his team to victory, with a 139, including a course record 66 in the first round. The Blue Hens shot a 579 to win the invitational by two strokes over Towson (581).
Senior David Renski (North Stonington, Conn.) finished second on the Pioneer squad with a two-day score of 154 (76-78). Sophomore Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.) booked identical 79s to total 158, while junior Jun Hardart (Warwick, Bermuda) scored a 159 (79-80).
Junior Bradley Neudorf (Virgil, Ont.) represented the Pioneers with a 164 (79-85).
Sacred Heart is back on the course at the New England Championship in Newport, R.I. on April 10 and 11.
