SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Sacred Heart redshirt-junior men's golfer Peter Ballo (Stamford, Conn.) wrapped up his play at the NCAA San Antonio Regional at Briggs Ranch Golf Club with a one-over 73 on Saturday.
Starting on the back nine Saturday, Ballo opened his round with two bogeys and two birdies in the first five holes. He then made par on holes 15 through 18 to be even par through the first nine. After back-to-back bogeys to open the second half of his round, Ballo birdied the par-four fourth and the par-five fifth to get back to even on the day. He also birdied the seventh to be one under for the round, but finished with bogeys on eight and nine to finish at one-over.
Ballo tied for seventh among the individual qualifiers at the regional with a three round score of 224, +8 over par. Julien Brun of TCU was the top individual not on an advancing team with a three round score of 206, 10 strokes under par. Georgia won the team competition at -11, with Georgia State, Vanderbilt, SMU, and UCLA also qualifying for the NCAA National Championship.
