Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Seventh Place at NEC Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.— The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished the third and final round of the NEC Championship tied for seventh place.

Junior Matt Shubley shot his second straight round off 77 to finish tied for 19th on the leaderboard. Classmate Tom D'Andrea also shot a five-over 77 and finished tied for 26th. Sophomore Hector Gutierrez shot a nine-over 81 on Sunday to finish alone at 29th. Senior AJ Correia and sophomore Jacob Henny both carded a 11-over 83 in the third round, finishing tied for 31st and 34th respectively. 

The Pioneers ended the tournament with a 54-hole mark of 940, tying with Saint Francis U for seventh place. Bryant paced the field to take the NEC Championship team title with a score of +20, they finished 26 strokes ahead of second place FDU who recorded a +46. Robert Morris finished in third place at +49.
