Men's Golf Fifth After First Two Rounds of Connecticut Cup

ELLINGTON, CT - Freshman Josh Salah (Gloucester, MA) fired a second-round 71 to help the Sacred Heart men's golf team finish in fifth place after the first two rounds of the Connecticut Cup at the par-72 Ellington Ridge Country Club Monday afternoon.
Salah's 145 is tied for third in the individual standings, four shots out of first. The Pioneer team total of 601 is one stroke behind fourth-place Hartford and four shots behind Bryant University in third. The University of Arkansas-Little Rock has a huge lead at 575, 19 shots ahead of second-place UConn.
Sophomore Martin Crane (Danbury, CT) was the next lowest Pioneer score with rounds of 77 and 75, putting him in a 23rd-place tie. Sophomore Joseph Serrentino (Cromwell, CT) and senior Adam Petrasovic (Tecumseh, Ontario) finished a stroke back at 153.
The third and final round will be played on Tuesday, starting at 8:30 am.
