(Bridgeport, CT) – The Men's Hockey team lost 10-0 to the RIT Tigers Saturday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena. Mike Colavecchia registered a hat trick and Greg Noyes scored twice, accounting for half of the Tigers' offensive attack.
Scott Knowles opened the scoring at 3:25 of the first, set up by Noyes and Trever Echenswiller. Brad McGowan gave RIT a goal late in the period, making it 2-0 Tigers with 20 seconds remaining with assists going to Brad Reid and Chris Haltigan.
Noyes scored the first of three second-period goals for RIT at 6:06, with Cameron Burt and Colavecchia assisting. Bury buried another on the power play, set up by Noyes at 10:19. Noyes knocked in his second at 13:29, with Knowles getting the helper.
RIT scored five in the third, with Taylor McReynolds putting one in at 2:29 on assists from Brad McGowan and Suart Brownell Colavecchia scored the next two, both on the power play, at 9:50 from Daniel Spivak and again at 13:00 from Jeff Smith and Eliot Raibl. Raibl notched his first career goal on RIT's fourth power play tally of the game, set up by Brownell. Colavecchia finished his three-period third for the tenth Tiger goal at 17:35, with Burt and Haltiin assisting.
The Pioneers host the Tigers again on Sunday, January 15 at 12:00 pm at Webster Bank Arena.
