SHU Hockey Alum Bailer Signs Pro Contract with Quad City Mallards

(Fairfield, CT) – Former Sacred Heart University Hockey defenseman Chris Bailer (Red Deer, AB) signed a professional contract with the Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League.

Bailer played 99 games in his four-year career with the Pioneers, and endeared himself to coaches, teammates, and SHU Hockey fans with his willingness to sacrifice his body. A 6-2, 200-pound physical presence on the blue-line, he epitomized the true rugged defenseman with uncanny shot-blocking abilities and a willingness to always mix it up in front of the net and along the boards.

"I couldn't be prouder of Chris," said SHU Hockey Head Coach C.J. Marottolo.  "His hard work and determination has paid off in signing a pro hockey contract.  There is no question that his character and team-first attitude will make Mallard fans proud."
