Steven Legatto Signs Contract With French Team Cergy

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Former Sacred Heart men's hockey goaltender has signed with Hockey Club of Cergy in the French Division 2 for the 2013-14 season.

Last season, two Sacred Heart alums played professionally overseas. Nick Johnson played his third season for Plzen HC in the Czech Republic and Anthony Yelovich played for Zagreb Medvescak KHL in Austria. Legatto wrapped up his career as Pioneer as Sacred Heart's all-time career leader in games played (109), minutes played (5649:52), and saves (3254). As a freshman, Legatto won 19 games in net and was an Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team selection as Sacred Heart reached the Atlantic Hockey Tournament Championship Game.

Legatto is the second member of the men's hockey class of 2013 to sign a professional contract. Eric Delong signed an amateur tryout with the Elmira Jackals of the East Coast Hockey League in March.
