Justin Danforth Selected to Atlantic Hockey First Team All-Conference

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Senior assistant captain Justin Danforth was named to the First Team All-Conference by Atlantic Hockey on Thursday.

Danforth once again led the Pioneers in points and assists with 22 assists and 32 points in his senior campaign. He is tied for seventh in Atlantic Hockey in points and tied for fourth in assists this season. Danforth recorded eight multi-point games including two playmakers against AIC on November 22, 2016 & Bentley on January 21, 2017. He earned Second Team All-Conference as a junior, lead the Pioneers with 20 goals and 41 points. Danforth was the 2014 Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the year in his first season with the Pioneers. 

This season was one for the record books as Danforth recorded his 100th career point on November 22nd, 2016, becoming the 13th Pioneer to reach the century mark. His 124 career points ranks seventh all-time in program history. Danforth sits fifth all-time with 82 career assists and is tied for second all-time in career games played at 147.

Danforth signed to an amateur tryout agreement with the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. 

Sacred Heart finished the 2016-17 season 13-19-5, for the fourth straight season with double-digit wins.
