FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Sacred Heart men's hockey freshman Marc Johnstone earned his second Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 26.
Johnstone led the Pioneers with three goals and a plus three rating this past week in three games of action. He opened the week with his fourth goal of the season in the 5-5 tie against Army West Point. The rookie earned his fourth goal of the season as SHU skated to a 5-5 tie against Army West Point.
In the series opener against Air Force, Johnstone had a career day with his first multi-goal game of his career. He earned the Pioneers first shorthanded goal since February 18 of last season with his diving shot at 17:24 in the third period. He was net front once again with 22 seconds left in regulation as he buried the game tying power play goal as SHU tied Air Force 3-3.
Through his first 14 games, he is tied third nationally among freshmen in points with 14 and 1.00 points per game. Johnstone leads Atlantic Hockey rookies in both categories.
