FAIRFIELD, CT (October 15) - The Pioneers open up the Atlantic Hockey portion of their schedule with Saturday's contest against the Black Knights of Army. Last season the Pioneers swept the season series with the Knights on the strength of a pair of wins at Tate Rink in West Point, and a 5-1 victory at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Sacred Heart leads the all-time series with an 11-7-0 record.
The Pioneers are looking to rebound from a 6-0 loss at the hands of the University of Vermont Catamounts on October 8th. Vermont's top line of Scott Mifsud, Torrey Mitchell and Brady Leisenring scored five of the Catamounts six goals as Sacred Heart struggled defensively. Vermont goaltender Joe Fallon made 15 saves in recording his first career win and shut out.
