Timmy Katz Named Scholar All-American by USILA

FAIRFIELD, CT – Senior attack Timmy Katz (Freeport, NY) became the third member for the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team, all-time, to earn a spot as a United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association 2010 Scholar All-American.  He is the third Pioneer lacrosse player to be honored as a USILA Scholar All-American.

In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities.  The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III.  The Scholar All-American are recognized at the annual Lacrosse All-America Banquet.

Katz, a business major, was also named to the NEILA Senior Scholar Athlete Team earlier this week.  In his final season for the Red & White, Katz totaled 47 points on 32 goals and 15 assists to lead the Pioneers in scoring.
