Four SHU Senior Lax Players Named to NEILA Scholar Athlete Team

AMHERST, MA – Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse seniors Stephen Gerhard, Timmy Katz, Evan Morgan and Peter Ridge were all named to the 2010 Division I All-New England Senior Scholar Athlete Team by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.  The Scholar Athlete Team acknowledges the graduating seniors from their respective schools, who have earned a 3.0 grade point average and have excelled on the field.

Gerhard, a midfielder from Centennial, CO, completed a double major in International Business and Spanish.  In his final season, Gerhard started 14 of 15 games and scored one goal and added a pair of assists.

Katz, an attackman from Freeport, NY, majored in Business.  He led the Pioneers in scoring with a team-high 32 goals to go with 15 assists, totaling 47 points.  Katz was also named to the Division I Scholar Athlete All-American Team.  He also represented SHU on the All-Northeast Conference First Team.

Morgan, an attacker from Ashburn, VA, completed his degree at Sacred Heart in Criminal Justice.  He finished second on the team in scoring with 14 goals and a team high 20 assists to total 34 points.

Ridge, a midfielder from Ellicott City, MD, majored in Business.  He appeared in 13 games and collected one assist in his final year for the Red & White.
