Jon Flood Named NEC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sophomore goalie Jon Flood (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was named the Northeast Conference's men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. He is the first Pioneer to earn a weekly conference honor this season.

Flood made 14 saves against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday for his first win in goal this season, allowing a season-low five goals. The sophomore goalie has made double-digit saves in six of his last seven games. In the last five games, Flood has posted a 9.35 goals against average and a .561 save percentage.

Sacred Heart, 1-0 in the NEC after its 14-5 win at Mount St. Mary's last Saturday, is on the road again on Saturday, April 6 for a 1 p.m. game at Wagner.
