Junior Matthew Robideau Named Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, CT (March 21, 2005) - Junior Matthew Robideau (Massena, NY) was named the Sacred Heart University Athlete of the Week for the week of March 14th through 20th.

Robideau guided the Pioneers to their fourth-consecutive win on Saturday scoring two goals and assisting on two others in a thrilling 9-8 overtime win at Dartmouth. The junior captain buried the first SHU goal of the day and then scored again to open the second period. Robideau set up the first of freshman Billy Fuchs three goals and then assisted on Tony Tanzi's marker with 12:36 to play in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 8-8. Robideau also picked up two ground balls in the win. On the season, the Massena, NY native leads the team with 15 points on seven goals and a team-best eight assists.

The Pioneers open the home portion of their schedule this week with two big games. SHU will host the #9 ranked UMass Minutemen on Tuesday at 3 pm and welcome in the University of Denver Pioneers this Saturday at 1 pm.
