The Colonials jumped out quickly in the second half, with two quick scores after winning the first two face-offs, cutting the SHU lead to 9-6. The Pioneers halted the run and closed the quarter with a pair of tallies and opened the fourth another to go up 13-7. RMU scores pulled the Colonials to within 13-9 with just over 10 minutes to play but the Pioneer defense clamped down shutting down their attack the rest of the way.
