Sacred Heart senior Peter Greco (Hamburg, NY), junior Brett McGlensey (West Chester, PA) and freshman Evan Morgan (Asburn, VA) were honored by the Colonial Athletic Association by earning spots on the league's all-conference teams. Both Greco and McGlensey were named to the All-CAA second team with Morgan finding a spot on the CAA All-Rookie team.
Greco finished a stellar career at Sacred Heart by leading the Pioneers in scoring his senior season. Greco tallied 16 goals and 12 assists on the year for 28 points, matching his career high total from 2005. Greco's season whas highlighted by his record breaking performance against Wagner. The senior attackman passed out six assists in a 22-5 win over the Seahawks, breaking the school record for assists in a game. He scored five man-up goals on the year and had 19 grounder. Greco finished his career 12th in SHU record book in career points (98 pts), 14th in goals scored (56) and ninth in assists (42).
McGlensey cemented himself as one of the top-defenders in the CAA this season. McGlensey was the only Pioneer to start all 12 games on the defensive unit. He led all SHU defenders with 33 ground balls, a number that put him second on the team. For his career, McGlensey heads into his final year in the Red & White with 59 grounders in 39 games played.
Head coach Tom Mariano and the Pioneers are thrilled to have Evan Morgan back for three more years after freshman attacker had a stellar rookie campagin. Morgan was second on the club with 24 points coming on 13 goals and 11 assists. Morgan buried a pair of man-up goals and scored once man-down. He added 15 ground balls to his final 2007 stat totals.
