Men's Lacrosse to Play in the Christian Prince Tournament this Fall

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (September 10, 2008) - Sacred Heart men's lacrosse coach Tom Mariano announced the Pioneers fall schedule starting with their annual Alumni Game slated for October 3rd on Campus Field at 7:30 pm. The Pioneers will also play in the Christian Prince Tournament at Yale University on October 11th.

Sacred Heart will participate along with host Yale, Quinnipiac and Lafayette in this year's event. The Pioneers will play Lafayette at 6:00 pm and then take on Yale at 8:00 pm. Parking for the event at the Reese and Johnson Stadiums will be $5 with all of the proceeds going to the Charles Prince Scholarship Fund.

The Pioneers will play one other tournament this fall, taking part in the Dowling Fall Tournament in Oakdale, New York on October 19th.

SHU will open the 2009 season traveling to UMass on February 14th before returning home to host future Northeast Conference member Bryant on February 22nd. The Pioneers will head to Colorado for the University of Denver Tournament on February 28th and March 1st taking on the host Pioneers and Air Force.

Sacred Heart will take on instate rivals Hartford and Quinnipiac as well as match-ups with Wagner and and Manhattan in non-conference action. The Colonial Athletic Association slate will feature home games with Hofstra, Villanova and Drexel with road games scheduled at Towson, Delaware and Robert Morris.
