Men's Soccer Downed 2-0 at CCSU

(New Britain, CT) – The Sacred Heart Men's Soccer team fell 2-0 to the Ce tral Connectisut State  Blue Devils Sunday afternoon on the road in a Northeast Conference match-up.

Steven Walmsley opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, following a save by Tucker Hackett (Madison, CT) on a shot by Reece Wilson that he knocked in for the rebound.  Wilson added insurance for CCSU in the 68th minute, taking a feed into the middle of the box from Manny Nobre and beating Hackett to his right.

Hackett made five saves, while SHU was only able to land one of its six shots on goal.

Sacred heart is next in action Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 pm at Campus Field when the Pioneers host the St. Francis (NY) Terriers. 

Sunday's game will also be the final regular season home game for the Pioneers, and the SHU Men's Soccer senior class of 2013 will be honored in a pregame ceremony.
