Men’s Soccer Picked Sixth in NEC Preseason Coaches Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the Northeast conference men's soccer preseason poll released on Tuesday.

The Pioneers earned their first NEC Tournament berth since 2011 a season ago thanks to a three-game win streak to close out the regular season. SHU was picked ahead of Central Connecticut and Robert Morris. Defending NEC Champs, St. Francis Brooklyn earned seven first place votes for the top spot in the Poll. Saint Francis U was selected to finish second and LIU Brooklyn third. 

SHU opens the 2017 season at Park Avenue field on Friday August 25 against NJIT at 4:00 p.m.
