Final Stats

New Haven, CT - In an intense match-up of in-state rivals, Yale and Sacred Heart played to a scoreless tie in men's soccer action Saturday night at Reese Stadium.

Despite the lack of goals, the game had plenty of end-to-end action as the two teams combined for 35 shots. Yale goalkeeper Travis Chulick finished with six saves, while Pioneer goalkeeper Matt Jones stopped four shots.

The Bulldogs' best scoring chance came with 12 minutes left in the second half, but Jones got just enough of a hard Andy Shorten shot to deflect it over the cross bar.

Sacred Heart's nearly won it in the second overtime, but the Yale defense blocked shots by Mario Mililli and David Backman from right in front.

The Pioneers are back in action Friday when they host Dartmouth. Game time at Campus Field is set for 3:30 pm.
