BOSTON – Junior Adam King (Columbia, Conn.) won the high jump at the USA Track and Field – New England Indoor Championships at Gordon Track on Sunday, as a select group from the Sacred Heart men's track and field team competed.
King won the competition with a leap of 6'4", a personal best. Drayke Jackson (East Northport, N.Y.) was fourth in the high jump by clearing 6'0". King also was sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 39'10.75". Jackson had two other top-five finishes on Sunday. The senior was third in the 60 meter hurdles (8.72s) and fifth in the pole vault (12'11.5"). Scott Polis (East Patchogue, N.Y.) finished fourth in the pole vault by clearing 14'5.25". David Roy IV (Melrose, Mass.) placed fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 48'5.50", and was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 46'10.25".
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday, Feb. 28 for the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Track & Field Championships at Boston University.
