Dufane, Guerrera, Pierre and Rog all win events at Yale Invitational

New Haven, CT.. The Sacred Heart Men's Track & Field Team competed at the 35th Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday with Quaheem DufaneTrevor Guerrera, Sebastien Pierre and Connor Rog and winning events for the Pioneers.

Quaheem Dufane won the men's 60m dash, running an IC4A & New England standard of 6.98 seconds. He ranks 3rd in the NEC in the event.

Trevor Guerrera won the men's 1000m in a time of 2:25.69. The time is well under both the IC4A and New England standard. Guerrera ranks 8th in the IC4A in the event, and 5th in New England.
Sebastian Pierre won the men's 500m in a time of 1:07.13.
Connor Rog won the men's mile in a time of 4:16.81, which ranks 2nd in the NEC behind teammate Guerrera.
Jeffrey Young took 5th place in the 60m hurdles, after crossing the line in 8.55 during the preliminaries. Young ranks 7th in the NEC after his performance at the Yale Season opener in December.
Thomas Yavorka matched his season best height in the pole vault, 4.20m (13'9.25 ft) to take 2nd place. Yavorka ranks 4th in the NEC.
Joshua Beloff finished 3rd in the long jump with his best mark of the day at 6.66m (21'10.25 ft). Beloff ranks 5th in the NEC after his leap of 6.74m (21'1.25 ft) at the Wagner Invitational.
Christian Turner place 2nd in the men's shot put, throwing a new personal best mark of 15.03m (49'3.75 ft). The mark surpasses the New England standard and ranks him 4th in the NEC.
Michael Kearns matched his personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 14.60m (47'11 ft) which puts him 7th in the NEC.
The Pioneers are back in action Thursday Jan. 19 at Quadrangular Meet with Boston University, Boston College and UMass Lowell. Boston, MA
