Pioneers compete at Sam Howell & George Mason Invitationals

The Sacred Heart men's track & field team competed at both the Sam Howell Invitational and George Mason Spring Invitational over the past week.

 

Sam Howell Invitational

Trevor Guerrera posted yet another IC4A performance in the 800 meters. Despite cold and windy conditions, he crossed the line in 1:53.32 for his season debut in the event. 

 

George Mason Spring Invitational

Fairfax, VA

April 8th, 2017

 

Freshman Jeffrey Young took 8th place in the men's 110 hurdles, crossing in a time of 14.92 seconds, which is just .02 off of the IC4A standard and well under the New England standard. The rookie currently ranks 6th in the event after his performance last week at the Mark Young Invitational, hosted by Yale.

Sebastian Pierre made his season debut in the 400 meters, crossing in a time of 49.98 seconds, which currently ranks 4th in the NEC.
The men's 4x100 finished in a time of 42.62 seconds to take 6th place.                               
Giuseppe DeLucia took 3rd in the men's college pole vault, clearing 13'11.25 feet. DeLucia currently ranks 2nd in the NEC.
O'Brian Joslyn took 11th with a personal best in the shot put of 49'7 feet. Joslyn currently ranks 4th in the NEC and earns a bid to New England's with the mark.
Patrick DiIorio took 8th place in the javelin with a huge personal best of 176'3" feet. The senior now ranks 7th in the NEC in the event.
