Young & Rog with standout performances at 2017 Ocean State Invitational

Providence, RI. -  2017 Ocean State Invitational, co-hosted by Brown and Providence on Saturday.

 Connor Rog ran a new outdoor school record in the 5000 meters, finishing 2nd in a time of 14:21.95. The previous record of 14:26.99 was held by recent graduate Sean Ferguson, set in 2015. Rog's time is more than 20 seconds under the IC4A and New England standards.

Rookie Jeffrey Young won the 110 hurdles in an IC4A/New England qualifying time of 14.82 seconds. The new personal best moves him into 7th in the NEC rankings.
Andrew Travins cleared a new personal best of 13'1.5" in the pole vault. The freshman now moves into 6th in NEC rankings.
David Roy IV took 6th place in the shot put, with his best mark of the day measuring in at a New England mark of 49'6.25". Teammate Christian Turner was right behind him, throwing 49'0.75". The duo now ranks 5th and 6th in the NEC.
Turner, along with teammate Steven Lefebvre also threw their bests of this season in the hammer throw. Lefebvre measured in at 153'8" and Turner at 152'3", to move into 6th and 7th in the NEC.
The Pioneers are back in action Friday 21. April at the Larry Ellis Invitational and Friday Night distance Races @ Princeton University, Princeton, NJ at 5 pm.Men's
