SHU Compete At NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championships & 19th Annual DeSchriver Invitational

Roxbury, MA,- The Sacred Heart women's track and field team were in action at two meets this weekend at the NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, MA. The Pioneers also competed at 19th Annual DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg Field House in East Stroudsburg, PA.

NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championships:

On Day 1, Nicholas Pandolfo finished 2nd in his heat in the 1000 meters with a new personal best, 2:30.07, to secure a spot in finals the following day. On Day 2, he finished in 8th place overall, earning "All-New England" honors, awarded to the top 8 in each event. 
 
In the mile final, Trevor Guerrera ran a new personal best, 4:07.61, for 2nd place and All-New England honors. The time is also an IC4A qualifier, and ranks him 2nd in the NEC. Guerrera also ranks 1st in the 800 and 3k this season in the conference. 
 
19th Annual DeSchriver Invitational:
 
Christian Turner took 5th in the weight throw, his best mark of the day landing at 14.66 meters. Turner currently ranks 7th in the NEC in the event with the season best.
 
Junior Dane Krchnavy ran a personal best in the 3000 meters, taking 5th in a time of 9:04.48, which converts to an 8:58.22 banked track performance.
 
SHU are back in action Friday Feb. 16 at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center, Staten Island, NY at 9 am.
