Errors hurt the Pioneers in the 3-0 loss to Ball State Saturday night. Nick Hunt (Uniondale, N.Y.) hit a team-high seven kills, while Brad Borsay (Richmond, R.I.) collected six, but the Sacred Heart Men's Volleyball team only hit .042 as a team as they fell to 2-13.

Sacred Heart held the lead throughout most of the opening set, but with the score tied at 11, the Cardinals went on an 8-2 run which they rode to the 25-16 set win.  Borsay led the team hitting .167 in the set, while he and Hunt posted two kills each.

In their best set of the night, the Pioneers hit .243 with 15 kills on 37 attempts with six errors. Benjamin Thomas had nine assists and a team-leading five digs in the 25-23 loss. Down 19-14, Sacred Heart battled back with a five-point run to tie the set. They tied the game at 21 and 22, but were never able to get the edge over Ball State.

The Pioneers collected just nine kills in the final set, as the Cardinals dominated play. Raymond Satagaj (Rocky Hill, Conn.) led SHU with two kills, but the team hit .034 and the Cardinals took the match 25-16.

Sacred Heart wraps up the eight-game road trip this week, facing Harvard on Wednesday and Baruch on Saturday.
