On Saturday, March 15, the Sacred Heart men's volleyball team in coalition with the Sacred Heart University Exercise Science and Athletic Training programs hosted a free three-hour clinic open to students from Bridgeport area middle schools.
Members of the Pioneer men's volleyball team and coaching staff took more than 45 seventh and eighth graders through drills and skill instruction. The students were also offered a guided tour of the Sacred Heart athletic facilities and listened as some of the Pioneers shared the stories of their journey to college athletics. At the end of the clinic, all participants were given a free volleyball from the men's volleyball program so they could continue working on their skills.
The clinic was organized through efforts of students and faculty in the Exercise Science program as well as the Athletic Training program. Special thanks to Professor Valerie Wherley from the Exercise Science Department, Professor Eleni M Diakogeorgiou from Athletic Training, and student-athlete Lindsay Aponte for organizing this event and including the men's volleyball team in this wonderful opportunity.
