SHU Sweep North Greenville and Move to 2-0

SHU men's volleyball kicked off the season with a double header against North Greenville, taking both games. The Pioneers defeated the Crusaders in three straight sets, and move to 2-0 on the season. Blake Cox, lead Sacred Heart with eight kills while only playing two of the three sets.

The first set was Sacred Hearts best, as they hit the court looking to capitalize on the hurt North Greenville line up. The Pioneers took the first set 25-9 thanks to the serving of Tyler Lee who hit back-to-back aces to put the Pioneers ahead 17-8. Doug Dzema was the leading contributor in the opening set tallying three kills.

The second set the Crusaders saw some more success as they managed to take an early 5-2 lead. After a couple of errors SHU was right back in it at 8-8. Cox commanded the court in the second and third set keeping North Greenville on their toes. The Pioneers took the second set 25-20.

In similar fashion from the second set Sacred Heart was in a battle in the beginning as the score was within two with SHU ahead 14-12. Sacred Hearts serving was just too much for the Crusaders as Cox, and Lee added aces to keep the Pioneers ahead and pull away with the set 25-19.
