SPRINGFIELD, MA - AJ Nally had a match-high 19 kills and the Springfield College men's volleyball team took advantage of an inconsistent Sacred Heart attack to take a 3-0 (30-22, 30-26, 30-24) decision over the visiting Pioneers Tuesday night.
Springfield, now 10-6, held a slim 15-14 lead in the opening set before pulling away to win 30-22. The Pioneers made eight attack errors and a service error down the stretch to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.
The Pride hit a solid .361 in the second set, making just four errors with 17 kills, to take a 2-0 lead with a 30-26 victory. Nally had seven kills in the frame, while Craig Harvey led the Pioneers with six.
Eight Pioneer service errors in the third set helped Springfield win the match, 30-24.
The Pioneers are back in action tomorrow night in the Pitt Center against Johnson and Wales University at 7 pm.
