Men's Volleyball Takes Down New Paltz in Three

FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior Kalani Efstathiou (Beaverton, OR) collected 12 kills, while freshman Nick Hunt (Uniondale, NY) had eight kills and six total blocks to lead the Sacred Heart men's volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-27, 30-22) win over visiting SUNY-New Paltz Friday night.

The win improved the Pioneers to 14-9 this season and snapped a two-game losing streak. New Paltz fell to 18-15.

Hunt, who leads the Pioneers in hitting percentage this season, hit a hefty .568 in the match. He committed just one attack error in 12 chances. Junior Craig Harvey (Beverly, MA) also had a strong game with 11 kills and eight digs.

Junior setter Tim Sadowski (Salem, NH) continued his overall solid play with five kills, a .625 hitting percentage, eight digs, four total blocks, three service aces and 36 assists.

New Paltz got an impressive performance from Kevin Stross with a match-high 17 kills, making just one error in 31 chances.

The Pioneers are back in action Sunday when they host the Violets of NYU in an EIVA match at 2:00.
