Antler Picks Up Late Takedown To Secure Win At Midland Tournament

Evanston, Illinois- Five Sacred Heart wrestlers hit the road to compete at what's known as one of the toughest mid season tournaments in the country, The Midlands. 42 teams competing for a spot on the top of the podium. Elliott Antler (Hebron, Conn.) managed to squeeze out a win in the 184-pound bracket but fell short of placing.

 

The whole team is on the road, as they take on Buffalo in a dual meet January 8th at 2:00 p.m.

 

Noteworthy:

  • Antler picked up Sacred Hearts lone win in the 184 lb weight class by decision over Jason Grimes from American University. Antler picked up the match deciding takedown in the third period with just 30 seconds remaining. In order to win the match Antler had to ride out his opponent for the remainder of the period to secure the win.
