Eichenlaub Takes 3rd, Three Other Pioneers Place 4th

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ (March 6, 2010) – Red-shirt junior Ricky Eichenlaub (Woodcliff, NJ) earned two victories by pin this afternoon on way to claiming third place at the 197 lb. weight class at the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestling Championships at Rider. Sacred Heart finished eighth in the eight team field, while Binghamton took home the title.
Eichenlaub pinned Anthony Esposito (Binghamton) in 2:54, before pinning Jack Callender in 4:30 to claim third place.
Red-shirt juniors Pat Feeley (Johnston, RI) and Anthony Priore (Garwood, NJ) and junior Paul Schweighardt (Tinton Falls, NJ) all finished fourth in their respective weight class. At 125, Feeley defeated Jamie Franco (Hofstra), 6-5, before falling to Fred Santaite (Boston), 10-2.
In the 157 lb. weight class, Priore defeated Joey Sheridan (Old Dominion), 7-1 in the consolation semifinals then fell to Jon Bonilla-Bowman (Hofstra), 24-10, in the third place matchup. Schweighardt, the Pioneer heavyweight, took down Grant Chapman (Old Dominion), 3-1, and then lost to Corey Waite (Binghamton), 14-5.
Red-shirt senior Michael Hartman (Cranston, RI) was also in action today. He lost his first consolation round match to Justien Wieler (Drexel), 8-0 at 184.
