FAIRFIELD, CT - The National Wrestling Coaches Association has announced its Division I All-Academic Top 30 Teams and the Sacred Heart University wrestlers rank 10th in the country. As a whole, the Pioneers accumulated an actual 3.1636 grade point average.
All eleven conferences were represented in the top 30 with SHU being the highest ranked team coming from the Colonial Athletic Association. For teams to be eligible for consideration, the team GPA is comprised of 12 student-athletes, including the 10 wrestlers that were the entries in the NCAA tournament conference qualifier.
Topping the team standings were Harvard, representing the Ivy League and the EIWA. American, Nebraska-Lincoln, Duke, and Davidson took up spots two through five. The remaining teams in the top 10 were Stanford, Northwestern, Columbia, and Utah Valley.
