(New Britain, CT) -The Sacred Heart Men's Cross Country team placed second out of eight competing teams at the 8th Annual Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet at Stanley Quarter Park.
The Pioneers earned a team score of 93, led by Jeffery Lusignan and his fourth place finish with a time of 15:20. Brendan Rickert finished eighth with a time of 15:26, while Daniel Koehler finished just outside the top ten in eleventh place with a time of 15:36. Rounding out the top seven runners for SHU were John Ahern (16:34), James Curran (16:48), Nicholas Arena (16:55), and Stephen Phillips (16:59).
The Pioneers competed with three other Northeast Conference teams, including host CCSU who won the race. Sacred Heart gears up for the NEC Championships, also at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, next Saturday afternoon.
