(Fairfield, CT) – The Sacred Heart University Cross Country teams took three out of the four NEC Weekly individual awards this past week. Christopher Connelly (Medford, NY) was named NEC Men's Athlete of the Week, while Brittney Lane (Greenwich, NY) was named NEC Women's Athlete of the Week. Emma Bolduc (Peterborough, NH) took the NEC Women's Rookie of the Week Award. All three ran their personal bests at the Albany Invitational this past weekend.
Connelly earned his first award with a fifth-place finish in the 185 athlete field at the Albany Invitational. He bested his previous personal best by four seconds with a time of 25:42.3.
Lane was named NEC Women's Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, crushing her previous personal best by 23 seconds with a time of 17:59.3. She finished seventh out of 192 finishers, landing her in the number-two spot on the SHU Women's Cross Country all-time list.
Bolduc finished first among rookies from the four NEC schools that competed, coming in 56th with a time of 19:28.1. That beat her previous best by 25 seconds and earned her a second NEC Women's Rookie of the Week award this season.
