PRINCETON, N.J. – Christopher Connelly (Medford, N.Y.) and Sean Ferguson (Smithtown, N.Y.) both finished in the top 40 at the Princeton University Invitational Saturday as the Sacred Heart men's cross country team finished 23rd in the team event.
Connelly was the Pioneers' top finisher in the 8K race, covering the course in a time of 24:36 to finish 29th. Ferguson was three seconds and three spots behind in 32nd place. Robert Challenor (Coram, N.Y.) ran a time of 27:36 with Colby Jennings (North Haven, Conn.) right behind him with a 27:37. Cameron Swift (Oxford, Conn.) rounded out the Sacred Heart scoring group with a time of 28:36.
The Pioneers will now take the next two weeks to prepare for the Northeast Conference Championships, held at Immergrun Golf Course in Loretto, Pa. on Nov. 2.
